Belarus and Ukraine have common interests as far as participation in Eastern Partnership projects is concerned, BelTA quoted Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko as saying after talks with President Alyaksandr Lukashenka of Belarus.
Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus said that he supports the idea of inviting Belarusian leader Alyaksandr Lukashenka to a summit to be held in Prague on May 7 to formally launch the European UNI0N’s Eastern Partnership program.
The foreign minister of the current EU Presidency holder Czech Republic, Karel Schwarzenberg, is scheduled to stay in Minsk on April 16 and 17, according to the press office of the Czech foreign ministry, BelaPAN said.
The deputy chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group Andreas Schockenhoff and a deputy Karl-Georg Wellmann will pay a visit to Belarus on March 24 and 25. The aim of the visit is negotiations concerning political issues, reports BelaPAN.
